Cancellation or Termination
Written notification must be given by the student in order for cancellation or termination to be effective. The non-submission of lesson exams does not constitute notice of withdrawal on the part of the student. AAIS must receive the notification of cancellation prior to the six month time limit. The official date for refund purposes is the date of official notification. Any refund due is made within 30 calendar days of official notification of cancellation or termination. Likewise, any balance due AAIS is due upon receipt of official notification.

A grade of "W" (official withdrawal) is assigned if a student officially withdraws or is canceled from a course, within the time limit, for which no lesson exams have been submitted.

A grade of "F" (failure) is assigned if a student officially withdraws or is cancelled,
within the time limit, after having submitted at least one lesson exam. A student who
discontinues attendance by not submitting lesson exams, without officially notifying
AAIS, receives a failing grade (F) upon expiration of the time limit. Any student who
"walks away" without officially withdrawing and subsequently decides to reactivate
after the time limit must re-register and pay the appropriate fees.
