Study Materials
At the heart of your learning experience is the Learning Guide. The Learning Guide is designed by an AAIS faculty member specifically for external independent study. The Learning Guide is used in conjunction with up-to-date textbooks, which contain the relevant subject matter for courses of 15 hours or more. Shorter courses utilize a Learning Guide only.
The Learning Guide takes the place of weekly classroom lectures and explains in detail what students are expected to learn and why it is important. It specifies the steps students need to take in order to learn what is expected, and it helps students to determine how well they are progressing. Students work through the Learning Guide and complete assignments at their own pace. Multiple choice exams serve as the means of evaluating student learning.
